Evidence-based Education
If you are interested in, or currently teaching EFL or ESL (or any other language for that matter), then you have come to the right place. Inside you will find a great selection of research-informed resources (including lectures and short articles) to help you learn more about teaching languages, especially as it relates to evidence-based teaching practices (something which is lacking in much of the TESOL industry), and the science of learning.
Based on empirical research, the resources on this site have been developed after wading through copious amounts of research and reflecting on the effective (and not so effective) learning approaches I employ (or have employed) in my own classes in the hopes of providing you with the most relevant findings and advice applicable to the modern EFL/ESL teacher.
How Do I Use The Site?
Simply watch each lecture (or just the ones you are interested in), and read the accompanying notes (and of course, click on any links to my blog posts for extra information).
How Long Will It Take?
Each lecture is about 10 minutes, and the reading section (and any blog posts) should take about another 5 minutes.
It's All About Teamwork!
In order to make sure this site stays relevant and continues to meet the needs of professional EFL and ESL teachers and educators interested in how people learn, I encourage your feedback , ideas, and advice. Whether you would like to contribute to a topic, give a teaching tip, or just offer some feedback on the site, please get in touch. After all, no one has all the answers. Please use the Contact page to contact me.
